Forest City 350 is a local chapter of the international organization, 350.org.  350.org is dedicated to ending climate silence and dispelling the myths perpetuated by corporations that climate change is a hoax or not anthropenically caused.  There is no stopping climate change, it is already in affect.  However, 350.org is dedicated to bringing about change and lessening the catastrophic affects of climate change for people and other species.  350 stands for the number of parts per million of the greenhouse gas carbon that scientists say is safe in the atmosphere for life to continue on earth as normal.  Carbon is released into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and oil, deforestation is another leading cause of carbon.  We recently hit 400 ppm (parts per million) of carbon in the atmosphere.  Clearly we are going in the wrong direction.​

We are at a climate crossroads.  The decisions we make now, at this moment, will affect generations to come.

Forest City 350 works to bring about awareness, blend science with creativity, call upon our legislators to make changes, educate the public, and celebrate this beautiful planet and the diversity of species.
